South Tyrol’s first educational ski mountaineering route

In December 2022, the first skitouring educational tour in South Tyrol was opened in Sexten.

It is aimed at all ski tourers  who want to learn the proper techniques.  It starts at the station of the “Dreizinnen-skilift” and ascends through a forrest to the top station of the “Porzen skilift” (530 meters uphill). The descent to the starting point is via the ski slope.

This guided tour focuses on proper ski touring ascent technique, inversion technique, basic knowledge of risk management, and knowledge of the possible dangers of snowy terrain.

Using the avalanche search simulation station, the mountain guide teaches proper behavior in an emergency.
