Cassin Ratti – Northface Cima Ovest di Lavaredo VI+A0 or VIII

The climbing route on the north face of the Westliche Zinne is one of the great extreme classics on the Trecime.

Before Riccardo Cassin and Vittorio Ratti managed to climb through in 1935, 27 different rope teams had already tried the ascent of the north face without success. The heart of the route is a very exposed traverse to the left. This is also where the biggest climbing difficulties (VI+A0 or VIII) of the route are located and these pitches also require a good psyche from the follower.

A retreat becomes very difficult after and in the traverse, so the mountain guides of the Alpinschule Dreizinnen strongly recommend an entrance tour to assess the climbing skills of the guests.
