Punta Fiames South Face – Dimai Route (IV+)

This 500-meter-long climbing route on the Pomagagnon Mountain Range stands as one of the classic gems of the Eastern Dolomites, rated at the fourth degree of difficulty.

Initially opened in 1901 by mountain guides Antonio Dimai and Agostini Verzi, along with their English guest, the route strategically follows the easiest path through the exposed south face. As climbers ascend, they’re encounter optimal rock quality and a stunning panoramic view encompassing Cortina and surrounding peaks such as the Tofane, Pelmo, and Sorapis. Thanks to its south-facing orientation and relatively modest summit height, this captivating climb is typically accessible in spring and even late autumn.

In colder temperatures or in the off-season, this climbing route is a convincing alternative to the Dibona edge on Cima Grande.
