Punta Fiames South Face – Dimai Route IV+

This climbing route, 500m long in total, on the Pomagagnon mountain range, is one of the classic pearls of the Eastern Dolomites, at the fourth degree of difficulty.

The route was already opened in 1901 by the mountain guides Antonio Dimai and Agostini Verzi with their English guest. The climbing route cleverly follows the easiest line in the exposed and forbidding south face. During the climb, the best rock and at the same time a beautiful view of Cortina and the surrounding mountains such as Tofane, Pelmo and Sorapis, can be enjoyed. Due to its south-facing exposure and relatively low summit height, this beautiful climb is usually climbable already in spring and even late in autumn.

In cold temperatures and/or late in the season, this climbing route offers a very interesting alternative to the Dibona edge on the Cima Grande.
