Pala di Popera – Normal Route
The Pala di Popera (German: peak “number nine”) is climbed quite rarely and is mainly done by mountaineers who want to climb all the peaks of the Sesto Sundial. The route always follows the easiest line of the mountain and only reaches the lower third grade of difficulty in some passages. However, the rock is quite fragile and there is a lot of loose scree on the narrow rock ledges. It is therefore extremely important for summit aspirants to be very confident in the pathless terrain and scree and to have mature mountain experience.
On the other hand, the Pala di Popera is one of the loneliest peaks in the Sesto Dolomites – an alpine adventure in the mountains is guaranteed.
This route is part of the multi-day ascent “Sesto sundial“.
